Below is a sample representation of the topsides painting that Ashbreez Boatworks is capable of providing. Single-part, or two-part; Awlgrip, Interlux, Imron...No matter the type, we can provide a fine topsides finish for your boat.  Make it look new again!

22' Boston Whaler

This Boston Whaler had an unfortunate incident with a car on one side and a tree on the other, resulting in hull damage. This has been an ongoing project boat for the owner, but this accident sidelined some of his planned projects, like adding a bracket, a motor, etc. The hull received the damage and that is where the painting is concentrated. The pilothouse was not included in the repaint, which is obvious when you look at the pictures. It received no damage and needed no repairs. This boat has seen a lot of water in its prime and has been used around the state, both on the western coast of Alaska and the Yukon River. She may be headed for Washington waters soon.

20' SJX Riverboat

As you can see in the before photos, this rugged SJX riverboat arrived at our shop in rough shape, as far as the exterior topsides were concerned. And as you can see, when she left, she looks brand new, thanks to Joel's fine painting abilities. At this point, the owner did not want to paint the interior.

Here are the "Before" pictures.

20' Jetcraft: A Repaint

'09  2859 Kingfisher

Things do go “bump in the night” and in the day, as well. This ’09 2825 Kingfisher had a meeting with some rocks in a surf zone outside of Resurrection Bay. There was a fair amount of damage below the rubrail, both port and starboard, as you can see from the location of the aluminum repairs that were done by Greatland Welding in Palmer, AK. There was some damage to the red accent on the port side, as well.

The boat was brought to Ashbreez for painting, following Greatland’s hull repairs. Joel faired as needed, primed the boat, and sprayed silver metallic, on both sides; the entire port accent area was also repainted with candy apple red.  All newly painted areas were then clear coated.  While the description of the work is straightforward and short, the time it takes to do this high quality work is far, far greater.

Below are before and after pictures of the painting. All of the photos are captioned.

Fish-Rite 18

A customer contacted us through the website, asking if Ashbreez could zolatone the interior of his Fish-Rite 18 skiff.  We said, "Sure; No problem!" He is making his own floorboards, so they are not present in the pictures.  This project was completed in 2 days, including prepping, priming and painting.

Flying Boat? Well, parts of one, anyhow!

The owner has been working on this project at his home and had a variety of parts to be painted. After he saw Joel's work he asked him to prime and paint the ailerons, flaps, wing floats, interior floorboards and numerous other items.  Check out the highlights!
